A Desk Reimagined

Sometimes it’s fun to take a piece of furniture apart and make it into what only you can see in your mind. My son had given me an old wooden desk, but it was on the smaller side. So, I hired my other son, owner of a decent collection of levels—who doesn’t need a 4-foot level? He cut the top off, separating the two columns of drawers. In the downtime of this project, the cats thought this was a great place to hang out since the top drawers were open. I painted the bases and drawers gray to lighten them up. My son added a white laminate desktop from Ikea. The finishing touches were the gray and white floral wallpaper on the inside of the desk, a little peekaboo surprise, and the copper and crystal pulls to catch the light in my bright dining room.
